Rt. 495 Rehabilitation Detour for Various Bus Routes in Union City - Beginning Friday, June 28, 2019
Possible delays of 20 minutes
Beginning Friday, June 28 and continuing for approximately three months (24/7), Rt. 495 to the 30th Street ramp into Union City will be closed between Rt. 495 East and JFK Blvd. due to the next phase of the NJ Department of Transportation (NJ DOT)’s Rt. 495 rehabilitation project.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 144, 160, 161, 163, 164, 191, 192, 195 and 199 in Union City will operate on a detour.
- Buses traveling inbound to New York via Union City will travel from Rt. 3 East Mainline and service road, keep right to the service road, continue on the Rt. 3 East service road, follow signage for Rts. 495/1&9/Lincoln Tunnel/Jersey City, continue on the exit ramps, take the next ramps for Rt. 495/Lincoln Tunnel/New York City, continue on Rt. 495 East via the right lane exit for 30th Street into Union City, and then continue the regular route.
Note: Route-3 corridor eastbound-express buses (Nos. 107, 108, 111, 124, 129, 167 and 190) traveling inbound to the Port Authority Bus Terminal during the AM rush, may experience delays approaching the Exclusive Bus Lanes due to increased traffic congestion.
