Buses will not have access to gates
Ticket options & waiting area will remain open
Effective Monday, October 29, at the request of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, access into the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) between 3 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. seven days a week will be limited to most of the facility during overnight hours. The limited access is in keeping with the traditional shutdown of most of the facility during the overnight hours to allow for better cleaning of the facility.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT customers can access the terminal from the North Wing main floor, where ticketing options (including Ticket Vending Machines) and a waiting area with seating will remain available. Buses affected by this include NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 119, 124, 139, 159, 166 and 190.
Buses operating during those hours will pick up and discharge passengers on 41st Street (between 8th and 9th avenues), just outside the door from the North Wing main floor area, not at the bus gates.
Access to the facility will not be limited during major holidays, snowstorms or other occasions when high levels of passenger traffic is expected.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
