NJ TRANSIT Transitioning Quik-Tik Monthly Customers to More Convenient Purchase Options - Beginning Saturday, June 30, 2018

NJ TRANSIT asks existing, non-student Quik-Tik® customers to transition to our newer, more convenient ticketing options prior to January 2019. No new non-student Quik-Tik® enrollments will be accepted after June 30, 2018.

Existing non-student Quik-Tik® customers will continue to receive their monthly passes through December 2018.

Non-Student Accounts

Over the past few years, NJ TRANSIT has been introducing new and more convenient methods for customers to purchase tickets, including the MyTix® mobile app and more than 700 Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) throughout the state. The rapidly growing popularity of these new options has resulted in a significant decline in Quik-Tik® participation.

Due to this decline in participation, and in recognition of our customers’ preference, customers should consider some of the many other convenient options available to purchase monthly passes:

  • The MyTix® mobile app available on Google Play™ and the App Storeā„ 
  • More than 700 TVMs at rail, bus and light rail stations and terminals
  • NJ TRANSIT ticket windows at terminals and select rail stations
  • Commissioned Ticket Agents (CTAs) for bus customers at retail outlets throughout the state

Please select “Ticket Options” on the menu bar at the top of our homepage for all of the available ticket purchase options and locations throughout our system.

Non-student customers who use paper transit checks should be aware that MyTix® and TVMs are unable to accept this form of payment.  NJ TRANSIT encourages customers to speak with their employer about moving to Transit Benefit Cards, which are accepted.  Customers preferring to continue using paper transit checks can purchase monthly passes at terminal and train station ticket windows.

Student Accounts

Full-time students attending colleges and universities that participate in our University Partnership Program will be able to continue using Quik-Tik® to purchase monthly passes until further notice.

NJ TRANSIT is planning to extend the MyTix® mobile ticketing app to include student monthly passes in the near future, and we will communicate to our student account holders when the MyTix® student option will be available.

Quik-Tik® Customer Service is available at 1-866-QUIKTIK on weekdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
