Ways to Save

Family SuperSaver
Two children (ages 5-11) can travel free on trains, light rail, and buses when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. This program is in effect weekends and holidays from 7 p.m. Friday (or the day before a holiday) until 6 a.m. Monday (or the day after a holiday).

Monthly Pass Holders

Parking

Parking at many NJ TRANSIT rail stations is limited on weekdays until about 6 p.m. If you are traveling before that time, you may wish to have someone drop you off at the nearest station, or use a station with a large parking facility such as:

Metropark Station (Northeast Corridor)
Hamilton Station (Northeast Corridor)
Ramsey Route 17 Station (Main Line)
Montclair State University Station (Montclair-Boonton Line, no service on weekends)
Summit Station (Morris & Essex Lines)
Bridgewater Station (Raritan Valley Line)
Grove Street Station (Newark Light Rail)

Travel Tips

To save time, buy your return trip ticket before going to Prudential Center.
Valid rail weekly are monthly passes are accepted for free travel on connecting bus service to Prudential Center, as well as light rail service to Newark Penn Station.
All NJ TRANSIT buses serving Prudential Center and Downtown Newark require exact fare. If you are not using a rail pass to travel on connecting bus service, be sure to check NJ TRANSIT's website or a bus schedule to determine the fare prior to traveling.
Purchase your rail ticket prior to boarding the train. A $5 surcharge applies to tickets purchased onboard if ticket vending machines or ticket agents are available.
