Will train service run normally during Super Bowl Week?
Yes, regular train service will operate during Super Bowl Week from Wednesday, January 29 through Friday, January 31 to accommodate visitors traveling to Super Bowl Boulevard in New York City. NJ TRANSIT will operate additional late morning service on the Northeast Corridor and Morris & Essex Lines inbound to New York, as well as additional late evening service outbound from New York. On Saturday, February 1, NJ TRANSIT will add trains throughout the day between Summit and New York on the Morris & Essex Lines, between New Brunswick and New York on the Northeast Corridor, and between South Amboy and New York on the North Jersey Coast Line.
What will be the train service on Super Bowl Sunday?
On Super Bowl Sunday, NJ TRANSIT will operate Meadowlands Rail Line service from Secaucus Transfer Station to MetLife Stadium starting at 1:40 p.m. and continuing up to game time. NJ TRANSIT will also operate special shuttle trains between New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport to Secaucus Junction.
After the game, NJ TRANSIT will offer frequent service from MetLife Stadium to Secaucus Junction and enhanced rail service between New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction. Customers are advised to know the last train time and any connecting service from Secaucus Junction to their final destinations.
**PLEASE NOTE: Direct Meadowlands Rail Line service between Hoboken Terminal and MetLife Stadium will not operate on Super Bowl Sunday. Hoboken customers traveling to and from MetLife Stadium must transfer at Secaucus Junction.

Will bus service run normally during Super Bowl Week?
Yes, NJ TRANSIT bus routes will operate on a regular weekday schedule, with some bus routes subject to service adjustments and detours during Super Bowl Week, including game day. Bus Routes 160, 703 and 772 will not directly serve the Sports Complex starting Monday, January 27 through Monday, February 3. Customers are strongly encouraged to visit njtransit.com for the most up-to-the-minute service information. From Wednesday, January 29 through February 1, NJ TRANSIT will offer supplemental service at various hotels in northern New Jersey normally served by selected bus routes. Also during this time, NJ TRANSIT will offer expanded midday, afternoon peak and evening service on selected bus routes to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, Newark Liberty International Airport and downtown Newark/Newark Penn Station. Additionally, NJ TRANSIT will offer expanded service at the following Park and Rides: North Bergen Park & Ride in North Bergen, Vince Lombardi Park & Ride in Ridgefield, Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center in Wayne, Mother's Park & Ride in Wayne. All parking fees apply, with the exception of Mother's Park & Ride, where parking fees will be waived, but space is limited.
Will light rail service run normally during Super Bowl Week?
Yes, light rail service will operate on a regular weekday schedule during Super Bowl week, with the following service enhancements:
Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
From Monday, January 27 through Friday, January 31, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service will operate double-car trains until midnight, with enhanced service between 2 p.m. and midnight. On Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service will operate on all three branches (West Side Avenue-Tonnelle Avenue, 8th Street-Hoboken Terminal and Hoboken Terminal-Tonnelle Avenue) with additional service between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. Additional service may be operated to serve major events that are scheduled along the system.
Newark Light Rail
Newark Light Rail customers should expect additional service on Tuesday, January 28 to accommodate "Media Day" at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark. Trains will operate every 15 minutes between Newark Penn Station and Newark Broad Street Station until 7:30 p.m.
***PLEASE NOTE: Light Rail customers are strongly encouraged to buy multiple tickets in advance to avoid lines at the ticket vending machines. A light rail ticket is good until it is validated (time stamped for use) in machines located on the platform. Customers must time-stamp their ticket just before boarding the light rail trains (one ticket per ride).
What is Access Link service and how will the service operate during Super Bowl week?
Access Link ADA paratransit service will be available throughout Super Bowl week and on Super Bowl Sunday for both regular Access Link customers, as well as for anyone who is disabled or ADA eligible in another state and needs a ride to the big game. Access Link is for people whose disability prevents them from using the local fixed route bus. If you are a certified Access Link rider, simply call 1-800-955-ADA1 (2321) to reserve a ride 1- 7 days in advance. If you are a visitor from another state and have a disability or are certified to use the ADA paratransit service in your state, call 1-800-955-ADA1 (2321) for assistance with using Access Link service. Will the trains, buses and light rail trains be more crowded than usual?
Super Bowl Sunday and other events during the week will attract significantly more customers from January 27 to February 3. Given the large crowds anticipated for Super Bowl and Super Bowl-related events during the week, NJ TRANSIT is advising customers to expect crowding and wait times preceding and following events, as rail, bus and light rail capacity will be limited. Customers should expect crowding on PM peak trains departing from New York City on Thursday and Friday evenings when many customers from the NFL Boulevard will also be travelling during this time. NJ TRANSIT estimates that approximately 12,000 customers will use rail service to travel to MetLife Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday. NJ TRANSIT strongly encourages customers to allow for extra travel time during Super Bowl week and on Super Bowl Sunday.
When planning my trip, how much more time should I allow for travel during Super Bowl week and Super Bowl Sunday?
Delays in trip time will vary depending on destination and event schedule. We strongly advise customers build additional travel time into their trip throughout the week and expect crowding conditions.
I am an NJ TRANSIT daily customer who wants to travel on the system during a time when it is less crowded, when should I schedule my travels during Super Bowl week?
Customers are more likely to experience less crowding if traveling inbound (toward New York/Newark/Hoboken) before 6 a.m. or after 10 a.m. and outbound (from New York/Newark/Hoboken) before 4 p.m. To assist customers throughout Super Bowl week and on Super Bowl Sunday, NJ TRANSIT is deploying additional customer service representatives and employee ambassadors at Port Authority Bus Terminal, Secaucus Junction, New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station, Newark Broad Street Station, Newark Airport Station, Hoboken Terminal, Trenton Transit Center, and Newport and Exchange Place stations.

During service or weather-related disruptions where cross-honoring is in effect, will my commemorative Super Bowl SUPER PASS be honored by PATH services and private bus carriers?
Yes, when cross-honoring is in effect, NJ TRANSIT's SUPER PASS will be cross-honored by PATH and private bus carriers. NJ TRANSIT tickets are NOT sold at PATH, MTA and NY Waterway locations. Your January monthly pass will be valid until noon on Tuesday, February 4. We encourage customers to purchase their February monthly as early as 5 p.m. on January 19 and prior to January 27. The NJ TRANSIT Police Department, together with other partners in law enforcement, is working to keep all transit services running on schedule. However, customers should expect crowding, anticipate wait times, and allow for extra travel time during the week.
