The 14th biennial Dodge Poetry Festival is returning to Newark for the second time this October 11th through 14th. The largest poetry event in North America will again transform New Jersey’s largest and most vibrant city into a “Poetry Village” for four days this autumn.
More than 50 poets of international acclaim as well as young, emerging poets will perform in various venues in Newark’s Downtown Arts District. Throughout each day of the Festival, multiples stages will offer events for audiences ranging from 100 to 2,000 people.
The 2012 Festival will feature the outstanding programming which Festival-goers have come to love, with a great variety of conversations and readings to take part in during the day, and culminating in Main Stage Readings at NJPAC’s Prudential Hall by some of the most celebrated poets in the world.
Come for the poetry, and discover the city’s thriving galleries, museums, cultural and historical institutions, architectural wonders and many fine restaurants, all within easy walking distance and easily reachable from Newark Penn Station or Broad Street Station.
