Recovery Projects (ARRA)

Project Scope
This project involves installation of a train traffic control system on the Morristown Branch of NJ TRANSIT's Morris and Essex Lines. This system allows for bi-directional train operation on this two-track segment between Summit and Denville. The scope also includes installation of a new interlocking on this segment to facilitate crossovers. The bi-directional signal system provides increased capacity and flexibility on NJ TRANSIT's commuter rail system.

Project Cost
$25 million ($25 million funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009).
