Project Complete

Project Scope
This project involves the construction of a supplemental parking facility to serve the increased commuter needs at NJ TRANSIT's Edison Station. The station is located in the Township of Edison, Middlesex County, New Jersey. NJ TRANSIT's Northeast Corridor commuter rail line serves the station as well as local bus. The scope includes construction of an approximately 475 space surface parking lot with new daily and monthly permit spaces on the outbound side of the existing station. The scope also includes vehicular access from Kilmer Road and an ADA compliant pedestrian walkway to Plainfield Avenue.

The project will also reconfigure the existing parking lot adjacent to the station building to optimize available parking spaces, improve traffic flow, and create an attractive public space south of the station building.

Project Cost
$14.813 million ($11 million funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009).
