This project involves the purchase of approximately 24 vans, 137 minibuses and 57 sedans for NJ TRANSIT's Access Link service. Access Link is NJ TRANSIT's paratransit service that is available for individuals who cannot use NJ TRANSIT's regular bus service.
- 24 vans will be used to expand the fleet to meet growing demand for Access Link service.
- 137 minibuses will replace 47 non-federally funded older vehicles in the fleet. The other 90 minibuses will be used to expand the fleet to meet growing demand for Access Link service.
- 57 sedans will replace NJ TRANSIT's non-federally funded older vehicles in the Access Link fleet.
The project also involves the purchase of minibuses to replace those in service in Atlantic City that are used to provide connecting service between NJ TRANSIT's rail terminal and NJ TRANSIT's Atlantic City bus terminal to local employers in Atlantic City, primarily for workers. NJ TRANSIT estimates approximately 40 minibuses will be purchased, depending on the price of the buses.
