NJ TRANSIT PARTICIPATES IN A “TRAIN RIDE TO SUCCESS”
NEWARK, NJ, February 12, 2003 – The New York/New Jersey Minority Purchasing Council, Inc. is teaming up with NJ TRANSIT and the New Jersey Chapter of the Coalition of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) to set the wheels of opportunity in motion for small and minority businesses – literally.
Come aboard and ride NJ TRANSIT to celebrate Black History Month on Thursday, February 27 with corporate members, Council-certified suppliers and supporters of the Council.
Event participants will board a special NJ TRANSIT train departing from Penn Station New York at 10:05 a.m., stopping at stations along the Northeast Corridor, before arriving in Trenton at 11:28 a.m. The train ride will offer participants an opportunity to meet and network with Council-certified suppliers, state contracting agency officials and corporate members representing some of New Jersey’s largest companies.
Upon arrival in Trenton, participants will lunch at Maxine’s Restaurant for an awards program and additional networking, before boarding a train back to New York.
The “Train Ride to Success” is just one of the several events NJ TRANSIT will hold to celebrate Black History Month and the rich and enduring contributions African-Americans have made to the American culture, academia, science and transportation.
