MEDIA ACCESS TO HOBOKEN TERMINAL FOR RAIL SERVICE RESUMPTION ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 10

 

NEWARK, NJ — The following information pertains to news media access for Monday, October 10, 2016 at Hoboken Terminal for the resumption of partial rail service.

 

Hoboken Terminal remains an active construction area and only a portion of the track area will be open to customers, etc. As such, it is critical that the instructions detailed below be adhered to for safety reasons. Failure to comply with the directions of the NJ TRANSIT public information office as well as by the New Jersey Transit Police Department will result in the immediate removal of the offending news media personnel from the property.

 

Morning Rush Hour

  • Media should assemble at the base of the Sloan Statue located just south of Pier A at Newark Avenue by 4:45 a.m.

  • At 5 a.m., media will be escorted into the Terminal waiting room where they will be staged in a cordoned off area. NO TRIPODS OR LARGE BAGS WILL BE PERMITTED INSIDE THE TERMINAL – HAND HELD CAMERAS ONLY.

  • In groups of 2-3 at a time, reporters will be escorted into the track area and permitted to film B-Roll Only.  No live interviews can be conducted within the Terminal as space is limited.

  • Access to the Terminal for the morning rush hour will end promptly at 9 a.m. and reporters will be escorted out.

 

Evening Rush Hour

  • Media should assemble at the base of the Sloan Statue located just south of Pier A at Newark Avenue by 3:45 p.m.

  • At 4 p.m., media will be escorted into the Terminal waiting room where they will be staged in a cordoned off area. NO TRIPODS OR LARGE BAGS WILL BE PERMITTED INSIDE THE TERMINAL – HAND HELD CAMERAS ONLY.

  • In groups of 2-3 at a time, reporters will be escorted into the track area and permitted to film B-Roll Only.  No live interviews can be conducted within the Terminal.

  • Access to the Terminal for the evening rush hour will end promptly at 7 p.m. and reporters will be escorted out.

     

Please note the following:

  • There is no unescorted access into Hoboken Terminal, the Hudson Bergen Light Rail Station, the NJ TRANSIT bus terminal, the ferry area, the pathway known as “Brick Alley” or the PATH station.

  • Access is restricted to the escorted times listed above ONLY.

  • These regulations are in place for your safety and for the safety of personnel in and around the area who cannot be distracted from their work.

  • There is no parking in Warrington Plaza or immediately outside the Terminal area.

  • Again, failure to adhere to these directions will result in the immediate removal from the Terminal and its environs.
