NEWARK, NJ — Beginning on Thursday, May 3 and continuing for approximately two weeks, NJ TRANSIT will make repairs to the Washington Boulevard/Sea Girt Avenue grade crossing in the Borough of Sea Girt.  The work, which includes renewal of the track bed and road surface, will ultimately result in a smoother ride for motorists traveling over the crossing.

To accommodate this work, Washington Boulevard/Sea Girt Avenue will be closed to motor vehicles between State Highway 71 and 6th Avenue (The Plaza).  Motorists entering the Borough of Sea Girt will have to use the railroad crossing at Beacon Boulevard in Sea Girt or First Avenue from Spring Lake.  In addition, on May 4, the railroad crossing may be temporarily closed to pedestrian traffic.
