NJ TRANSIT OFFERS EXTRA SERVICE FOR BUSY HOLIDAY WEEK
 Kids ride free on NJ TRANSIT both holiday weekendsDecember 21, 2007 NJT-07-130 NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT will offer extra bus and rail service during the busy holiday season to give customers more travel options, including “early getaway” rail and bus service on Friday, December 21 and Friday, December 28, and special late-night service after midnight on New Year’s Day. In addition, NJ TRANSIT’s Family Super Saver Fare, which allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be extended from 7 p.m. Friday, December 21 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, and again from 7 p.m. Friday, December 28 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, January 2. Newark Light Rail, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and River LINE will operate on a weekday schedule. Buses will operate on a weekday schedule, with additional buses providing early getaway service on select routes from the Port Authority Bus Terminal starting around 1 p.m. On Monday, December 24, trains will operate on a weekday schedule, with early getaway service from Hoboken on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines starting at noon. Newark Light Rail, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and River LINE will operate on a weekday schedule. On Tuesday, December 25, trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule on all lines, with no rail service on the Montclair-Boonton Line. After 5 a.m., trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule on all lines, with no rail service on the Montclair-Boonton Line. Newark Light Rail and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a weekend schedule; River LINE will operate on a Sunday schedule. In addition, expanded bus service will be provided from the Port Authority Bus Terminal between midnight and 5:30 a.m. on select routes.
