'EARLY GETAWAY' SERVICE SET FOR LABOR DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND

NEWARK, NJ - NJ TRANSIT will offer 'early getaway' rail and bus service on Friday, August 31, for the benefit of customers leaving work early for the Labor Day holiday. Extra outbound trains will operate on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley and Morris & Essex lines, and extra buses will operate on more than two dozen bus routes from the Port Authority Bus Terminal starting around 1 p.m.

On Monday, September 3, trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule with no rail service on the Montclair-Boonton and Pascack Valley lines. Holiday bus schedules vary by route�customers are advised to check their timetables or visit www.njtransit.com for schedule information. Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and Newark Light Rail will operate on a weekend schedule; River LINE will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Northeast Corridor

Two additional trains will depart New York Penn Station at 2:26 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. and stop at Secaucus, Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport, operate express to Metropark, then make all stops to Trenton.
North Jersey Coast Line

An additional train will depart New York Penn Station at 1:52 p.m. and stop at Secaucus, Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport, operate express to Woodbridge, then make all stops to Long Branch (except Monmouth Park), arriving in Long Branch at 3:19 p.m. Connecting service departs Long Branch at 3:38 p.m. and makes all stops to Bay Head, arriving in Bay Head at 4:30 p.m.

An additional train will depart New York Penn Station at 2:48 p.m. and stop at Secaucus, Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport, operate express to Woodbridge, then make all stops to Long Branch (except Monmouth Park), arriving in Long Branch at 4:15 p.m.

An additional train will depart Newark Penn Station at 3:49 p.m. and operate express to Woodbridge, then make all stops to Bay Head (except Monmouth Park), arriving in Bay Head at 5:43 p.m. Connecting service for this train departs New York at 3:23 p.m.
Raritan Valley Line

The 1:06 p.m. departure from Newark Penn Station will be extended to High Bridge and makes all stops (except Garwood), arriving in High Bridge at 2:31 p.m. Connecting service for this train departs New York at 12:37 p.m.

An additional train will depart Newark Penn Station at 3:34 p.m. and make all stops to Raritan, arriving in Raritan at 4:36 p.m. Connecting service for this train departs New York at 3:08 p.m.

Train 5711, the 6:23 p.m. departure from Newark Penn Station and Train 5903, the 6:30 p.m. departure from Newark Penn Station, will be combined and will make all stops to High Bridge. The combined train, Train 8545, will depart Newark Penn Station at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in High Bridge at 7:59 p.m.
Morris & Essex Lines
For the Labor Day holiday, NJ TRANSIT's Family Super Saver Fare, which allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday, August 31 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 4.
