NJ TRANSIT TO CONTINUE CROSS HONORING ON TUESDAY DUE TO IMPACTS OF WINTER STORM

Additional Staff Will Be On Hand To Assist Customers

February 28, 2005 -- 3 p.m.

NEWARK, NJ –
In an ongoing effort to give customers flexibility during winter storms, NJ TRANSIT will continue to cross honor tickets and passes on Tuesday, March 1. Cross honoring allows riders to chose any mode of travel – train, bus, or light rail – with any NJ TRANSIT ticket or pass they currently hold.

To further assist customers, additional NJ TRANSIT staff be on hand at major terminals and stations starting tomorrow morning, to answer questions and direct customers.

All NJ TRANSIT customers are encouraged to check www.njtransit.com for up-to-the-minute system information before starting their trip. Service information is also available by calling 1-800-772-2222 or from broadcast traffic reports.

As always, customers should give themselves plenty of extra time to get to the station during severe weather conditions. Use extreme caution when walking on exposed sidewalks and station platforms and when boarding trains and buses.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The NJ TRANSIT Public Information Office will be staffed until 11:30 p.m. tonight and starting at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Representatives can be reached by calling 973-491-7078.
