NEWARK, NJ — On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 17, NJ TRANSIT trains, the River LINE and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a regular weekday schedule. The Newark City Subway will operate on a Saturday schedule.

Bus schedules vary by route, and customers are encouraged to check their timetables or www.njtransit.com for the schedule in effect.

Kids Ride Free on NJT

NJ TRANSIT’s Family Super Saver Fare, which allows two children 11 and under to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday, January 14 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 18. Senior citizen and round-trip excursion tickets will be valid without restriction throughout the period.
