NEWARK, NJ – Had enough waiting in line this holiday season? NJ TRANSIT is offering customers the opportunity to avoid ticket lines forever, as well as a chance to win a color television, microwave, VCR, or PDA just for signing up for the Quik-Tik program.

“We’re always looking for ways to make the commuting experience easier for our customers,” said Lynn Bowersox, Assistant Executive Director of Marketing and External Affairs. “Quik-Tik is now the most convenient way to get your NJ TRANSIT pass each month, without ever waiting in line.”

Customers who enroll in Quik-Tik enjoy the convenience of having their rail, bus or light rail passes delivered to their mailbox and having the transaction automatically billed to their credit or debit card. Convenient online account management enables customers to change their itinerary, update billing information or temporarily suspend receiving Quik-Tik passes, all without leaving their home.

Customers who sign up for Quik-Tik on or before January 9, 2005, will be automatically entered into a drawing to win prizes that include a Toshiba TV, a Panasonic microwave, a Weber grill, a JVC videocassette recorder, a Palm Handheld PDA and a NJ TRANSIT sweatshirt. Enrolling in the program is quick, simple and free at www.njtransit.com.

NJ TRANSIT is the nation's largest statewide public transportation system providing more than 752,600 daily trips on 240 bus routes, three light rail lines and 11 commuter rail lines. It is the third largest transit system in the country with 163 rail stations, 52 light rail stations and more than 17,000 bus stops linking major points in New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia.
