NJ TRANSIT PLANS TEMPORARY BUS SERVICE ON PORTION OF ATLANTIC CITY RAIL LINE
Bridge between AC and Absecon to be replaced

NEWARK, NJ – NJ TRANSIT will provide substitute bus service on a portion of the Atlantic City Line between Atlantic City and Egg Harbor City stations December 9-11 to accommodate the replacement of Jonathan’s Thoroughfare Bridge.
NJ TRANSIT will provide substitute bus service for rail customers between Atlantic City and Egg Harbor City stations from 4 a.m., Thursday, December 9 through 7 a.m., Saturday, December 11. During this time, all Philadelphia-bound trains will originate from Egg Harbor City Station. Customers traveling from Atlantic City or Absecon Stations should board a substitute bus outside the station for service to Absecon or Egg Harbor City. At Egg Harbor City Station, customers may board a Philadelphia-bound train.
Atlantic City-bound trains will terminate at Egg Harbor City Station. Customers may board a substitute bus for service to Absecon and Atlantic City.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time for possible delays.
As a reminder, Atlantic City rail tickets are cross-honored on bus line 551, which offers service between Atlantic City Bus Terminal and Philadelphia’s Greyhound Bus Terminal, and bus line 554, which provides service between Atlantic City Bus Terminal and Lindenwold.
