New Jersey Unified Certification Program
NJ TRANSIT is part of the New Jersey Unified Certification Program
(NJ UCP), an initiative that streamlines the certification process. The
NJ UCP is a collective vendor directory shared by NJ TRANSIT, the
New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJ DOT) and the Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). Firms that are certified as DBEs by any of
these agencies are automatically included in the NJ UCP database.
To participate in any NJ TRANSIT project assigned a DBE, your company must be certified as a DBE in the state in which the firm is headquartered. Businesses must
follow the standardized certification process, which is managed by
such government agencies as NJ TRANSIT, NJ DOT and the PANYNJ. Once your business
qualifies for DBE certification, it is listed in NJ TRANSIT's vendor
directory as well as in the NJ UCP directory.
