Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival Returns to Newark!

With more than 60 renowned, much-published and award-winning poets, along with audiences expected to exceed 15,000, the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival returns to Newark, NJ, October 18-21.

NJ TRANSIT is once again teaming up with the festival to get you there at an affordable price to enjoy the festival’s four days of readings, discussions and musical performances at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Newark’s Downtown Arts District.

Called "Wordstock" by The New York Times, the festival features such poets as Elizabeth Alexander, President Obama’s first inaugural poet; bestselling authors Sandra Cisneros and Sapphire; former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera; literary legends Eileen Myles and Ntozake Shange; Pulitzer Prize-winners Sharon Olds and Gregory Pardlo; and many more.
