PENNSAUKEN TRANSIT CENTER CONSTRUCTION

Project Scope:

The Pennsauken Transit Center Construction project involves the construction of a new intermodal station and parking facility in Pennsauken, New Jersey to allow passengers from NJ TRANSIT’s River Line light rail service to transfer to NJ TRANSIT’s Atlantic City commuter rail service as well as local bus service.  The scope includes construction of an approximately 280-space surface parking facility, a single low-level River Line light rail platform, two high-level platforms on the Atlantic City Line, connecting stairs and elevators and a bus shelter and boarding area.

 

Project Cost:

$40 million ($3.608M from the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for the River LINE portion, $12.995M in ARRA for the ACRL portion, $692,000 in other federal sources and the remaining balance was funded by the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF.)
