UPPER HACKENSACK RIVER BRIDGE DRIVE REPLACEMENT
Upper Hackensack Drawbridge is located between Secaucus Junction and the Kingsland Station on the Main Line. The project requires key drawbridge drive components and associated equipment being replaced or added. This includes motors, brakes, transformers, power supply lines, signal and communication systems, control panels, and emergency back-up diesel generators.
Anticipated completion – Summer 2011
The bridge was constructed by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1958. The project will improve functional reliability, operational flexibility, fault diagnostic capability and extend the useful life of the bridge.
