Terms of Use The student monthly pass is for the personal use of the student who purchased it and is restricted for use traveling to/from stations indicated on the pass for the sole purpose of attending school. Student passes are not honored to or from any other rail station except those printed on the pass, but they may be used on certain buses and light rail vehicles as permitted under NJ TRANSIT cross-honoring policies. NJ TRANSIT reserves the right to review applications for student passes to ensure compliance with NJ TRANSIT policies. Students must present their student identification card upon request by train crew personnel or other NJ TRANSIT representatives.
Plan Your Trip Planning your trip on NJ TRANSIT is easy. If you already know you'll be traveling by train, bus, or light rail, you can use our station-to-station or point-to-point trip planners. If you are unsure, you can use our Itinerary Planner for a customized trip plan. Click here.
University Partnering Universities, you can help your students save money on their commute all year long by participating in our University Partnership Program. Just as important, fewer students require on-campus parking and more potential students realize just how accessible your campus is! Another benefit of this partnership is our assistance with creating on-campus information centers to promote student awareness of NJ TRANSIT options in addition to the online student monthly pass (available for bus, rail, or light rail) that is discounted at 25% off. Interested colleges, universities, and post-secondary schools can email us. If you are a student, have your school's administration contact us to begin a partnership.
