UPDATED DETOURS: Bus Route Nos. 83, 157, 168, 175, 178, 182, 751, 753, 755, 772 and 780: Effective Immediately Buses WILL NOT Travel on Cedar Lane-Anderson Street Bridge due to New Weight Limit Restrictions - Delays Expected
Due to new weight limit restrictions, NJ TRANSIT buses will not be traveling across the Cedar Lane/Anderson Street Bridge between Hackensack and Teaneck effective immediately.
Bus Route Nos. 83, 157, 168, 175, 182, 751, 753, 755, 772 and 780 will follow a detour using Route 4 between Hackensack and Teaneck as shown below:
- Buses from Teaneck traveling westbound toward Hackensack (leaving their routes on Cedar Lane at River Road) will travel northbound on River Road to Route 4 West to southbound Hackensack Avenue to Anderson Street at River Street. Buses will then resume their regular routes.
- Buses from Hackensack traveling eastbound toward Teaneck (leaving their routes on Anderson Street at Hackensack Street) will travel northbound on Hackensack Avenue to Route 4 East to southbound River Road in Teaneck. Buses will then resume their regular routes.
Updated detour for Bus Route No. 178:
- Buses traveling toward Hackensack (leaving River Road at Cedar Lane) will travel southbound on River Road, westbound on Fort Lee Road, northbound on River Street and westbound on Atlantic Street into Hackensack Bus Terminal.
- Buses traveling toward New York (leaving Hackensack Bus Terminal) will travel southbound on River Street, eastbound on Court Street, northbound on River Road and then continue the regular route at River Road and Cedar Lane.
PLEASE NOTE: The following bus stops will not be served:
Bus Route No. 178
The 178 line will no longer make any stops in Hackensack except for Hackensack Bus Terminal. Customers should use alternate service to Hackensack Bus Terminal and transfer to the No. 178 line.
In Hackensack
Eastbound along Anderson Street on the far side of River Street.
Customers can use the bus stop on northbound River Street at Passaic Street.
Eastbound along Anderson Street between Main Street and River Street.
No. 168 customers should use the bus stop southbound on main Street at Anderson Street.
No. 175 customers should use the bus stop eastbound on Anderson Street at Union Street.
Nos. 753/772/780 customers should use the bus stop northbound on Main Street at Passaic Street.
In Teaneck
Eastbound along Cedar Lane on the near side of River Road.
Customers can use the far side bus stop on Cedar Lane at River Road.
Westbound on Cedar Lane on the far side of River Road.
Customers can use the bus stop on Cedar Lane at Catalpa Avenue.
