Bus Route Nos. 405 and 407 Will Begin and End at Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden - Effective January 8, 2011
In an effort to make the Nos. 405 and 407 bus service more reliable with improved on-time performance, NJ TRANSIT will make modifications to the bus routes, effective Saturday, January 8, 2011.
Beginning Saturday, January 8, all 405/407 line buses will begin and end their trips at Gate 4 inside the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden. These buses will no longer operate to/from Philadelphia.
Because Nos. 405/407 buses will not be subject to delays in downtown Philadelphia, these changes will immediately result in improved reliability for customers. The route will be renamed as follows:
- No. 405 Camden-Merchantville-Cherry Hill Mall
- No. 407 Camden-Merchantville-Moorestown Mall
- Admiral Wilson Blvd. trips on the 407 timetable will be renumbered as No. 414 Philadelphia-Moorestown
- No. 414 line will continue to serve Philadelphia
Customers traveling to or from Philadelphia will be able to make connections at Walter Rand Transportation Center to continue their trip at no additional cost. Connecting buses arrive and depart every 5-10 minutes (times shown on the new timetable). Ask your bus operator for a “continuing trip” receipt when you pay your fare, enabling you to connect to any of the 12 other NJ TRANSIT bus routes that serve Philadelphia at no additional charge. PATCO service to Center City Philadelphia is also available (for a separate fare).
The hours of service and the frequency of buses will remain the same. All points served by the Nos. 405/407 in New Jersey will remain the same and provide the same level of service at similar times.
