Pascack Valley Line: Buses Replace Trains due to Grade Crossing Repairs and Signal & Track Maintenance Work through Saturday, October 28, 2017

Effective immediately and continuing through Saturday, October 28, buses will replace Pascack Valley Line (PVL) trains as follows:

Saturdays and Sundays - See weekend schedule HERE.

  • Local and New York State buses operate between Spring Valley and Secaucus.

  • Customers traveling  between Secaucus and Hoboken will use Main and Bergen County Line trains.

  • NOTE: Bergen County Line Train 69, which operates to Port Jervis and normally departs Hobokenat 12:40 a.m. will depart Hoboken 5 minutes later at 12:45 a.m. PVL customers traveling from Hoboken and connecting with the last substitute bus from Secaucus will use Train 69.

  • Teterboro Station customers: The last outbound bus of the night will stop at Teterboro ONLY by request.

Monday through Friday (midday hours ONLY - peak hours are not affected) - See weekday schedule HERE.

  • Buses will operate in two sections:
    • Between Spring Valley and Secaucus. These buses will operate express between New Bridge Landing and Secaucus.
    • Between New Bridge Landing and Secaucus, making all stops except Teterboro.
    • Teterboro customers must use NJ TRANSIT’s No. 161 bus, which stops at Industrial Avenue and Route 46.
    • NOTE: For Train 1622, buses will operate in three sections:

  • New York State express between Spring Valley, Nanuet, Pearl River and Secaucus (no local stops in New Jersey)

  • Between Montvale and Secaucus, operating express between New Bridge Landing and Secaucus

  • Between New Bridge Landing and Secaucus, making all stops except Teterboro.

  • While busing is going on during midday hours, shuttle trains for PVL customers will operate between Secaucus and Hoboken.

During this time:

  • Customers should be at their stop 15 minutes before the time shown.

  • PVL customers may wish to travel via the Main/Bergen County Lines.  PVL passes will be cross-honored on the Main-Bergen County lines.

  • PVL passes will be cross-honored on the Hudson Line at Tarrytown for travel to Grand Central Terminal.

  • At Secaucus, Coach USA buses will arrive and depart from Platforms No. 9 and No. 10.

  • While busing is in effect, all Metro-North customers from Spring Valley, Nanuet and Pearl River may use their monthly/weekly commutation passes for travel on Metro-North’s Hudson Line between Tarrytown and Grand Central Terminal. 

  • Customers traveling during periods when substitute busing is in effect may also use their rail passes on NJ TRANSIT Bus Nos. 76, 151, 161 and 165 bus routes AND on Rockland Coaches/Coach USA Bus Nos. 11A (to and from Port Authority) and 11C (to and from George Washington Bridge Bus Station).  
  • Train 1653's substitute bus operates Monday - Thursday,excepton Wednesday, September 20. On Fridays and on September 20, Train 9653 operates to Spring Valley.
