Cranford Station: Westbound Platform Closed in Phases for Surface Rehabilitation Work - Beginning Monday, May 7, 2018


First phase: The east end of the westbound platform will be closed. Customers can board the train from the west end of the platform. (Approximate dates of work – May 7 to May 22).

Second phase: The west end of the westbound platform will be closed. Customers can board the train from the east end of the platform. (Approximate dates of work – May 23 to June 11).


Beginning on or about Monday, May 7, the rehabilitation work on the platforms at Cranford Station will begin with the east end of the westbound platform. The work will occur weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  For your safety, please use caution and do not travel through barricaded areas.

During work on the platform, access to the elevator may not be available. Customers who are unable to use stairs may consider these alternate travel options:

Traveling to Cranford Station from points east (New York/Newark):

  • Remain on the train to Westfield. At Westfield, board the next inbound train to Cranford.

Traveling from Cranford Station to points west (High Bridge):

  • Board an inbound train to Union Station and transfer to an outbound train to your destination.

Customers requiring elevator service may want to travel from Westfield Station where elevators are available.

During this time, customers may experience possible delays of up to 20 minutes as a result of Amtrak track work and consequent speed restrictions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
