South Orange Station: Outbound (Westbound) Elevator Temporarily Out of Service


Effective immediately, the outbound (westbound) platform elevator at South Orange Station is temporarily closed for repairs. NJ TRANSIT is awaiting parts before making repairs.

During this time, customers requiring elevator service should use the following alternate travel options:

  • Traveling TO South Orange from points EAST (e.g. Newark/New York):  Remain on the train to Summit, and then transfer to an eastbound train to South Orange.
  • Traveling FROM South Orange to points WEST (e.g. Summit/Dover/Gladstone):  Board an eastbound train to East Orange, then transfer to a westbound train to your destination.
