New inbound elevator construction work continues and is scheduled to be completed mid-August 2012.
Construction of a new elevator to the eastbound (inbound) platform at New Brunswick Station will begin on or about Monday, April 18 and continue through mid-August 2012. Work includes site preparation, construction of a new elevator tower, extension of the eastbound platform and sidewalk replacement along Easton Avenue.
Customers are advised of the following impacts:
The sidewalk on the north side of Easton Avenue under the tracks will be closed to allow for construction. Pedestrians should use the south sidewalk when traveling on Easton Avenue.
The stairway between the pedestrian tunnel and Easton Avenue will be closed for the duration of the project. Customers should use the pedestrian tunnelwithin the station.
The lower level of the station building and the pedestrian tunnel will remain open 24 hours/day.
The station building entrance on Easton Avenue (next to the flower shop) will be closed during construction activity/work and will remain open at other times. The station building entrance on Albany Street (closest to Dunkin Donuts) will remain open 24 hours a day.
A portion of the eastbound platform will be narrowed due to construction. However, customers will be able to navigate past the work area to the stairs leading to the south side of Easton Avenue.
For your safety, please obey all posted signs and do not travel through barricaded areas.
