NEWARK, NJ — Whether you’re headed to the beach, Monmouth Park Racetrack or any one of the venues for “North To Shore,” you can take advantage of NJ TRANSIT’s exceptional promotional discounts beginning May 23rd and running throughout the summer. Both new and returning customers can save on summer travel by using various promotional codes in the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, including beach excursion fare discounts for low-cost roundtrip weekday tickets to some of New Jersey’s most popular shore destinations. Details for all promotions can be found at www.njtransit.com/summer.  In addition, Memorial Day weekend will have early getaway service and additional Jersey Shore shuttle train service to kick off the summer season!

There is also a great offer to bring a friend along with a “Buy One, Get One Free” deal where customers can get a free trip with the purchase of a round-trip ticket. NJ TRANSIT has plenty of deals and discounts for everyone, with beach packages, express buses to Six Flags Great Adventure, rail service to the Monmouth Park Racetrack, and more!

Memorial Day weekend service enhancements

On Friday, May 26 early getaway service will be offered on bus and rail. 

  • From approximately 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., extra outbound trains will operate, stops will be added, and select connections will be adjusted.  To accommodate the earlier ridership demand, select trains between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. will be cancelled or combined on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex, Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines.   • Extra buses will operate from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on more than two dozen bus routes starting around noon.  Visit njtransit.com/holiday-service-guide for details. 
    • IMPORTANT: Please note that on Friday, May 26, Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28, heavy travel is expected to the Taylor Swift concerts at MetLife Stadium. Additional adjustments may be required to support service to/from the Stadium; customers should check Train Schedules, alerts and other details at njtransit.com for the most up-to-date travel information.

  • The Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle is enhanced with an increase in frequency to hourly service from approximately 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

As an added incentive to travel this summer, customers who use any of the following promotion codes throughout the summer will receive 100 bonus points in NJT REWARDS, NJ TRANSIT’s free loyalty program. Customers automatically earn NJT REWARDS points for their ticket purchases in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, and the points can be redeemed for offers at local merchants & attractions, as well as national brands.

North To Shore

This new promotion offers 10% off round-trip travel to each destination using the promo code for the host location in the mobile app. Three cities means three chances to save. Starting today, use code “N2SAC23” for Atlantic City events (June 4-11), “N2SAP23” for Asbury Park shows (June 14-18) and “N2SNWK23” for travel to Newark festival activities (June 21-25) to see some of the world’s most talented entertainers in music, comedy, film, poetry and technology. North To Shore is a three-city, three-weekend festival celebrating all the talent, diversity, and creativity New Jersey has to offer. North To Shore will bring together 50+ venues for an over-the-top showcase of Jersey-wide excellence, aligned with Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy’s vision for a celebration worthy of the Garden State’s legacy in the arts and innovation.  Each city will host events encompassing Music, Comedy, Film, Technology, Art, and More! There will be conversational panels, stand-up shows, keynote speakers, art classes, workshops, interactive exhibits, concerts, and film screenings.

Beach Excursion Fares

Get to the Jersey Shore from NYC for under $20 on weekdays! NJ TRANSIT customers traveling to Long Branch and stations farther south on the North Jersey Coast Line can use a special promo code in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to receive a spectacular savings of over 40% off regular fares. That means that customers coming from New York City can visit the shore in Long Branch for less than $20 round-trip!

Beginning today, customers can use promo code “SHORETHING0523” to receive this discount through May 31st. After that, customers will need to check www.njtransit.com/shore for a new code each month. Promo codes are only valid for same-day, weekday activation, and each code allows customers to purchase and activate up to two round-trip tickets at a time. The code is limited to one use per customer per week and must include a destination of Long Branch or any station south of Long Branch on NJ TRANSIT’s North Jersey Coast Line to receive the special savings.

Customers in South Jersey can get to the shore too! Beginning today, customers can use promo code “SHOREBET0523” in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to receive an amazing 50% savings off travel on the Atlantic City Rail Line (ACRL) between Philadelphia and Atlantic City on weekdays in May. Customers will also need to check www.njtransit.com/ac for a new code each month. With this discount, customers can travel from Philadelphia to Atlantic City round-trip on weekdays for just $10! Promo codes are only valid for weekday same-day activation, and each code allows customers to purchase and activate up to two round-trip tickets at a time. The codes are limited to one use per customer per month.

Summer in the City!

NJ TRANSIT customers can also use the promo codes “NYCPASS23” and “PHILLYPASS23” in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to receive a 40% discounted round-trip ride to either New York City or Philadelphia. Each code allows customers to purchase and activate up to two round-trip tickets, which must both be activated on the same day. Each code can only be redeemed once per customer during the summer, so be sure to make the most of your trip!

BOGO - NJ TRANSIT Style 
Show your friends how easy, convenient and affordable NJ TRANSIT is throughout the summer start by using the promo code “VIBESMAY23” in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to “Buy One, Get One Free” round-trip between any origin and destination during the month of May. Then visit njtransit.com/bogo for a new code each month.  Only one code may be used per customer per month during the promotion and all tickets expire at the end of the promotion on September 4th.

More Summer Savings!

  • Six Flags Great Adventure or Hurricane Harbor: Beginning May 27, NJ TRANSIT customers can use the No. 308 express bus for travel to and from the park. The No. 308 bus operates between the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York and Six Flags, with an intermediate stop at Newark Penn Station. Starting Friday, May 26 at 4 p.m., customers can use the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to begin purchasing packages, which save up to $50 off round-trip bus tickets and admission passes to the Theme Park or Hurricane Harbor. Packages purchased on the App include round-trip transportation and discounted admission to Six Flags Great Adventure or Hurricane Harbor.   • Beach Packages:  Save up to $6.50 on admission to Asbury Park or Ocean Grove beaches on weekends and holidays starting on May 27th by purchasing a round-trip train fare and a discounted beach pass for one low price!   • Monmouth Park: NJ TRANSIT is off to the races at Monmouth Park Racetrack this season with a great discount package! NJ TRANSIT customers can take North Jersey Coast Line trains to Monmouth Park Station when the track is open for live racing, through September 10th. NJ TRANSIT’s Monmouth Park Package, which includes round-trip transportation, general admission and an official racing program, is a total savings of up to $6.50 off the face value if purchased separately.
