Director Edward Bruce commands the Intelligence Section for the NJ TRANSIT Police Department. He directs and coordinates all counterterrorism and criminal intelligence operations as well as counterterrorism and security risk management programs for the New Jersey Transit Police Department.
Director Bruce joined the NJ TRANSIT Police Department in May of 2011. Throughout his career he has served as both a government employee and consultant on numerous intelligence and counterterrorism assignments for the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and various State and Local law enforcement and government agencies. Prior to joining the NJ Transit Police Department, Director Bruce's previous assignments included: the Domestic Port Threat Assessment/Intelligence Team Leader for the US Coast Guard Intelligence Coordination Center and the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Acting General Manager of Security for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's Public Safety Department, the Deputy National Threat Lead for the Department of Homeland Security's Port Mass Transit WMD Technical Assistance Team, and the Threat and Vulnerability Lead for the new World Trade Center Master Security Planning Team.
Director Bruce holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Cultural Anthropology and History from Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS SCI) clearance and has authored numerous classified and unclassified intelligence and risk management products.
