Hamilton Station Parking Facility

Background
Hamilton Township had expressed interest in developing a Transit Village at the existing Hamilton Station. NJ TRANSIT and the Township worked together in developing a vision that called for all existing surface parking to be relocated into a parking structure that would allow economic development of the remaining NJ TRANSIT-owned property.

Project Scope
Design and construction of a more than 2,000-space parking deck at NJ TRANSIT's existing rail station in Hamilton Township, along with all necessary on-site roadway and site improvements. The deck will include provisions for future retail space.

Project Cost
$45 million

Current Status
Construction work began in fall 2005.

Next Milestone
Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2006.

Benefits
Construction of the parking deck will allow for economic development of the NJ TRANSIT owned property by eliminating surface parking. Construction of the parking deck and future development of the site will also provide additional commuter parking at a site that is currently at capacity.
