Project Complete

Background
The opening of Secaucus Junction has notably expanded transportation options for customers living along the Bergen County Line. As a result, the need for station parking has drastically increased.

Project Scope
NJ TRANSIT will construct a new parking facility in the City of Garfield, adjacent to the northbound tracks of the Bergen County Line, on the corner of Outwater Lane and Midland Avenue. The facility will offer a total of 252 parking spaces, including seven accessible spaces, new landscaping, drainage and lighting systems, and a new walkway connecting the Park & Ride to Plauderville Station.

Project Cost
$3.1 million

Current Status
Construction on the facility began in May of 2004. Construction was completed in January 2005.

Benefits
The new parking facility will accommodate customers wishing to travel through Secaucus Junction via the Bergen County Line.
