Edison Park & Ride

Background
Edison Station is a high-volume rail station on the North East Corridor Line serving 1,850 daily passengers. The station currently has a 170-space parking lot on the inbound side that serves both daily and monthly permit customers. Edison station is part of the system-wide parking improvement initiative to create and enhance access to the rail system. The project will add approximately 750 new daily and monthly permit spaces on the outbound side, as well as repaving and reconfiguring existing areas to optimize available space.

Project Cost
$13 million (Estimate)

Current Status
Design is approximately 90 percent complete.

Next Milestone
100% Design will be completed by February 2006.

Benefits
Approximately 750 additional NJ TRANSIT riders will be able to park in a new, state of the art, daily and monthly permit parking lot on the outbound side. Existing parking lot on the inbound side will also be improved and modernized to optimize available space.
